Medellin is the center of the international cocaine trade. In poor areas like Comuna 13 there is a drug war. Deadly “invisible borders” criss-cross the maze of alleys. An initiative of over 80 young people has now come together to form the "Elite de Hip Hop". They want to transform their neighborhood with the soft power of rap, graffiti and breakdance, have founded a hip-hop school and receive grants from the city administration. They want to offer children and young people an alternative career model: respect and jobs without drugs and violence. The killers of the drug mafia also listen to the rap of the elite.

They grew up with the hip-hoppers, show up at their parties. More and more bands are joining the elite. The drug lords already see competition for the next generation in the elite. Three leaders of the elite were shot dead last year. "Radio" is the Eskalones' successor to the murdered band leader Chelo. He does not want to give up the struggle for a peaceful life. He prefers to barricade himself with his band in a tiny apartment and continue to work on building up the "Elite de Hip Hop". Mateo, 14, Chelo's brother, also fled to the apartment from the killers of the drug mafia.
